Wong D.P.M., L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
Dr. Wong's approach to patient care has been shaped by two uncommon experiences: a lifetime devoted to medicine and a personal understanding of chronic pain. What truly sets Dr. Wong apart is her rare ability to seamlessly bridge Eastern and Western medicine. As both a Board-Certified Acupuncture Physician and a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine, she brings over twenty years of extensive clinical experience to her practice.A Rigorous Medical Background
Dr. Wong's professional training combines the precision of modern Western medicine with the holistic wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Her background includes:Bachelor of Science from the University of WashingtonDoctor of Podiatric Medicine from the Barry University School of Podiatric MedicineIntensive Surgical Residencies at the Boston VA Medical Center and MetroWest Medical CenterClinical Collaboration across community and teaching hospitals, including the Cooley Dickinson Medical Group (Massachusetts General Hospital), Bedford VA Medical Center, and MetroWest Medical Center in Massachusetts.Master of Science in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine from the Florida College of Integrative MedicineDual Board Certifications: Diplomate of Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and Diplomate of Podiatric Medicine (ABPM)A Personal Mission Rooted in Empathy
Dr. Wong's path to Traditional Chinese Medicine began long before she entered the clinic as a practitioner. It started with her own diagnosis of osteoporosis at a young age. Experiencing firsthand the daily toll of chronic pain and the frustration of searching for lasting relief, she learned what it feels like to be a patient looking for answers. That personal journey, combined with her volunteer work on global medical missions to underserved communities in Vietnam, Honduras, Jamaica, Peru, and Haiti, reinforced her core belief: meaningful healthcare requires both strong clinical expertise and deep, individual compassion.Today, her mission is simple: to provide thoughtful, individualized care that supports comfort, balance, and quality of life.Dr. Wong warmly welcomes all patients. She is fluent in English, and is able to assist with basic, everyday conversational Vietnamese, and Chinese dialects including Cantonese, Mandarin, and Cao Zhou. Our Clinical Services & Treatments
We offer a full range of services designed to address both your everyday health concerns and your long-term wellness goals.Expert, Comfort-Focused Acupuncture
Acupuncture has been used for thousands of years and is commonly incorporated into modern integrative care as part of a comprehensive approach to health and well-being.As an Acupuncture Physician specializing in the body’s energy meridians and circuits, Dr. Wong treats the body as a whole. After experiencing needle trauma during a difficult encounter with a phlebotomist in her youth, she understands needle anxiety firsthand and takes special care to make treatment as gentle, comfortable, and relaxing as possible.Dr. Wong uses a comfort-focused acupuncture technique that she has refined over many years. Her discussion of Japanese acupuncture illustrates that effective treatment does not need to feel aggressive or painful; however, it is not her preferred method. Instead, she inserts ultra-fine, sterile needles using a precise technique intended to make insertion minimally noticeable.(Note: Patients taking blood thinners, cardiac medications, or steroids, or undergoing chemotherapy, should disclose this information before treatment. Dr. Wong will assess whether acupuncture is appropriate, what precautions may be needed, and whether coordination with another healthcare provider is advisable.)Ear Seed Therapy (Auricular Acupressure)
Ear seeding is a needle-free form of TCM that utilizes gentle pressure points on the outer ear. It is a gentle and accessible option for children, needle-sensitive individuals, or athletes seeking continuous recovery support. These semi-permanent seeds can be worn for several days, allowing you to press them gently between visits to support relaxation, sleep quality, and digestive comfort.Acupoint Injection Therapy (AIT)
AIT merges the precision of modern medicine with traditional acupuncture principles. It involves the targeted micro-injection of natural substances, such as sterile vitamins (like B12), minerals, or herbal extracts, directly into specific acupuncture points.AIT may enhance the benefits of treatment when incorporated into a broader care plan. Depending on the specific substances used, Dr. Wong frequently recommends this therapy to help promote natural energy levels, support overall vitality, and ease localized muscle tension.
Before treatment, she will explain the proposed substances, their intended purpose, potential risks and alternatives, and whether AIT is suitable for your wellness goals.Additional Integrative Modalities
As part of her integrative approach to care, Dr. Wong also incorporates:Chinese Herbal Medicine and Dietary GuidanceFacial Rejuvenation (Microneedling) for natural skin vitalityCupping Therapy and Tuina Massage for muscular tension reliefFar-infrared TDP Mineral Lamp Therapy: The TDP (Teding Diancibo Pu) lamp is much more than a standard far-infrared heating device. It features a specialized heating plate coated with a proprietary blend of 33 essential trace elements. Widely utilized in hospitals across China and Japan, the lamp emits a specific electromagnetic spectrum designed to support local microcirculation, gently loosen tense fascia and muscles, and encourage your body’s natural healing processes.Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) and Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) Therapy primarily used to support pain management.Frequently Asked QuestionsDo you offer consultations?
No, but you’re welcome to call to schedule an appointment if you need a consultation as part of the acupuncture treatment visit. What happens during my first visit?
Your initial consultation and comprehensive examination are fully included with your first acupuncture treatment, which typically lasts 60 to 90 minutes. How many treatments will I need?
Every patient's needs and response to care are different, so treatment frequency and duration are determined individually after assessment. Some patients with long-standing concerns may be advised to begin with one to three sessions a week, with the plan adjusted according to their response and clinical needs.Do you accept insurance?
Yes. We participate with select insurance plans, including the VA Community Care Network / Optum, United Healthcare, and Humana. Self-pay patients are also warmly welcomed. What is Electroacupuncture?
A specialized form of traditional acupuncture where a gentle micro-current is applied to the inserted needles, providing continuous and targeted stimulation. Why choose Electroacupuncture over Traditional Acupuncture?
Electroacupuncture utilizes a specialized device to deliver a gentle, continuous micro-current to the needles. This provides sustained stimulation to the acupuncture points without the need for ongoing manual adjustment by the practitioner. Dr. Wong may recommend incorporating this modality for patients seeking targeted support in the management of chronic pain, injury-related discomfort, and persistent muscle tension.CONTACT
